See what writers are saying about their progress with Sanctuary.
Since the writers' Sanctuary program launched late last year, writer feedback has followed a wonderful theme: new capacity and enthusiasm for writing; more confidence; less procrastination and, beautifully for me to hear, much less self-condemnation. And while all that feedback is lovely what is really heartening is that each of my clients has increased wordflow significantly - and two writers have gone from from overwhelmed and blocked to finishing their books in the past two months - ahead of schedule !
I've included a small sample of writers' comments, made either during our conversations, or in between times, through email or the private on-line writer's space (all our conversations are confidential, so although I have the writers' permission to share their details, I won't at this stage). Here's some of the feedback:
Buzzing. .....just wanted to let you know that the ideas have been coming in like sets of waves, one after another. I've been catching some beauties!.......Thanks a bunch! It seems bizarre that we haven't yet officially begun.

F..k, these conversations are amazing !
Okay.....roll out the red carpet, bang the drum, pop the champagne. I finally wrote the last ****** line in my book !!
I feel enormously encouraged... energised and optimistic.
I feel excited about my work for the first time in ages....
I am getting a huge amount from talking with you - and your fee is extremely reasonable
The 'construction' metaphor we discussed has transformed my relationship with my book. Before, I was bringing in the 'interior designer [critic]' WAY too soon, long before the walls and roof were on my 'building'. Now that I know the interior designer has a specific role - it is clear that what I've been doing is bringing in the critic way too early. When I think about it like this it is so obvious. Finish the walls and roof first, and then, when that's done, it's time to make it pretty. That's the editing phase. This way of seeing my work is enormously freeing and energising.
Here's how Sanctuary works.
Firstly - a confidential, no-cost, no-obligation call so we decide whether we'd like to work together (I pay for all calls, wherever you are).
Each month - an hour-long phone conversation. These confidential conversations cover much ground, including writing aims, obstacles - mindset and logistical - and, most importantly, practical strategies for getting a regular writing pattern in place and enjoying your writing work once again.
Between conversations - weekly reflective practice and planning. I provide a confidential on-line writing space and prompt you with weekly questions to answer and post for me to read. I read and comment on all your posts.
Every three months - a review of progress, reassessment of goals, and building on the strategies for you to get where you'd like to get with your writing.
I love the conversations and greatly enjoy hearing about the progress my clients make. At this early stage in the life of the Sanctuary program, it seems to me to be a win-win. Great for writers and incredibly enjoyable and satisfying for me.
If you'd like to have this energising support in your writing life, please book in soon for your first, complimentary check-me-out session so that if you feel that it could be right for you, we can get going in early May.
I only have space for a few more clients, so if you'd like your own Sanctuary, now is a good time to get in contact so we can start in May.
If this is not for you, but you have a friend or colleague who you think may be interested, please forward this letter to them, or send them to the Services page.
Thank you. I love the prospect that by taking a step to get a writing pattern in place and having regular support, very soon you may be rejoicing at the progress you've made.
I look forward to hearing from you.
All the best,
Alison
