Upcoming events and programs
Sanctuary - dedicated and regular time for writing. I call these virtual 'rolling' retreats - rolling because, unlike a typical retreat that may be a block of time, these rolling retreats are designed to help you create new, sustainable patterns for writing. They are a combination of: individual one:one conversations each month so you develop the mindset and capacity to facilitate you writing your best work; minimum of once a month dedicated time to write; and if you need it, accountability - where you write to a specified target and I keep you accountable for what you say you want to achieve. Three, six or 12 month programs.
A Mind of One's Own Conversations (Podcast series) - an interview series with Australian Author, Charlotte Wood, exploring her approach to writing. Charlotte shares what she has learned - from her own practice, interviewing other writers and her PhD studies into the psychology of creativity – about confidence; managing unhelpful thinking patterns and developing effective new ones; focus and discipline; managing fears and getting them into perspective; changing her relationship with her own and others' criticism; dealing with fear of failure and success; managing distraction (specifically, de-Twittering); and developing support structures that work. Available NOW. Go to the products page and listen to the free introductory conversation between Charlotte and Alison. Or, to hear an excerpt from the first conversation, Focus and Discipline for Writers, listen to Charlotte discussing the fallacy of The Real Writer ! Click below. February's topic, Managing the different stages of Writing, is now available - subscribe to the series here!
Ambition and ego - A workshop examining women's relationship with success, failure and fear of being noticed. Hosted by Australian author, Charlotte Wood and Alison Manning. This workshop has been postponed from March 2014 until further notice.
