Counselling
Opportunities to manage the depression, anxiety and stress, whether related to procrastination, perfectionism or the general sense of overwhelm common to writers who are trying to fit writing into busy lives.
Opportunities to develop practical skills and strategies so you can write with minimum angst. This includes: specific focus on developing more confidence; exploring tendencies such as perfectionism and developing effective strategies for getting work done; developing focus and discipline; understanding fears and getting them into perspective; changing your relationship with your own and others' criticism; dealing with fear of failure and success; and managing work/writing/family overwhelm.
For some the value here is simply to have an independent person with whom to have confidential conversations - perhaps to take stock, discard thinking patterns and emotional responses that are past their use-by date.
Coaching
Opportunities to develop specific goals and a structure to help you meet those goals.
Opportunities to develop a sustainable writing rhythm that will allow you to maintain a long-term writing practice.
Writers' Retreat - accommodation and optional counselling/coaching
Writers are invited to stay at the beautiful, quiet and spacious writers' sanctuary in Central NSW. For more information, images and bookings, click here.
The retreat can operate simply as a place to stay while you write, or can also include counselling and or coaching before, during and /or after your stay.
Workshops with Australian writer, Charlotte Wood
Occasional 2-day face to face workshops, usually in Sydney and Melbourne, designed for fiction writers.
